Hamble Court History

Situated in Hamble-Le-Rice, Hampshire, resides Hamble Court Estates. Originally an air craft hangar built in 1924 on the North Air Field.  In 1926 When Avro Acquired the land and built the “new” north airfield and established Avro Fairey Aviation, Vickers/Supermarine, Simmonds aircraft and the Hampshire Aeroplane Club. Part of British Airways:  the hangar was part of what was then named “Air Training Services Ltd-Britain’s Air University” proudly boasting one of the first pioneer female pilots learning. She was the first woman to travel around the world by air. One particular office and a lot of the production spaces still have the original exposed metal joists with rivets, and pully systems in place. As some of the hangars and runways disappeared over the years, in their place houses were built and a picture of Hamble was created as we see it today. 1982 the land was sold off and the hangar was purchased for the use of business by the current owner. It has changed appearance slightly but still has its characteristics and basic structure. The business park today is residence to varied industries and businesses. Surrounded by large old oak trees, it’s a short distance from the beautiful Hamble Village.
